Communication Science and Biology, together with Computational Methods, is sponsoring ICA’s first pre-conference hackathon! The hackathon will take place in the Gold Coast, Australia from May 20-21, 2020. This non-competitive hackathon is an opportunity for attendees to learn programming skills, collaborate and network with new people, and work on cool research projects! The hackathon is open to communication scholars of all programming skill levels, from newbies to longtime coders.
In addition to joining a team to collaborate with, participants will also have the opportunity to teach and participate in informative breakout sessions. Current breakout sessions include: managing research workflows with GitHub, intro to Python, text analysis in R, and many others.
Registration opens on the ICA website on January 15, 2020. We hope you will sign up early! If you have any questions, feel free to contact the organizers via this email: hackingcommsci@gmail.com
